Restaurant Hits, Errors and Home Runs

Three blog posts into our tour of Rome and the Amalfi Coast, and we are finally ready to discuss the high (and low) points of our Sorrento restaurant experiences.

No one wants to read a poor restaurant review. Let’s just say we were unimpressed with La Lanterna and O’Parrucchiano, both in Sorrento, and leave it at that.

The All-Stars, most of which we ate at more than once.

Gelateria Davide – Expansive selection of the creamy refreshing stuff, with the darkest dark chocolate flavor in Sorrento.

Inn Bufalito – A casual bistro featuring, you guessed it, a variety of buffalo mozzarella and buffalo meats, including steak, sausage and carpaccio. It’s a popular spot, so reservations are recommended.

MVP

Ristorante Il Buco – This is one of the most talked about, written about and recommended restaurants in Sorrento, and it lives up to expectations. With four tasting menus and a generous number of a la carte options, Il Buco is true Italian fine dining. We had dinner here twice and will share the details of our meals in the next blog post.
